Library/Media Center

The Dr. Carl D. Dockery Library/Media Center plays an important role in the institution’s educational process by providing resources to enhance student studies.

On-site access to resources is available Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 9:00pm and Friday from 8:00am to 3:00pm.  An Internet “virtual library” provides links to electronic magazines, newspapers encyclopedias and educational sites 24 hours-a day through the TCCC Library web site at

Resources include an extensive collection of 25,000 electronic and 17,862 print books, 1259 electronic magazine titles and 182 print periodical subscriptions, as well as 5,371 audiovisual and computerized software items.

The library is housed in a pleasant, centrally located setting with comfortable seating for 24 students.  A separate room provides a quiet area for study groups of 6 students. Another area has been set aside for group or individual viewing of audiovisual material.  A computer lab equipped with Internet connections and curriculum-related software is available.

A professional Library staff guides students in the use of Library resources. Group sessions are readily scheduled, upon request of the instructor.

Library services are extended to the Graham County Center by an agreement with the Graham County Public Library.  College-owned computers offer student access to the main Library’s card catalog and the Internet “virtual library”.  A daily courier delivers materials from the main Library to the Graham center.
